Body Waves: Dance like no one’s watching – together.

A dance event for all the living room dancers with elements of body awareness and somatic practice.

Come join us for an evening of fun and organic movement, an evening of intuitive, somatic dance to release stress and connect with yourself.

This isn’t a party, and it’s not a dance class. It’s a space to let loose the way you do when you're dancing alone at home – free, wild, and completely yourself.

We will move through different rhythms and energies with occasional breaks for mindfulness.

We’ll start with some gentle guidance to help you drop from your head into your body – and then we will invite you on a journey with the help of music. At the end we will lay down for a well-deserved relaxation.

There’s no choreography. No right or wrong way to move. No judgment. Just you, your body, and the collective energy of others doing the same helping you work through emotions, tensions and accumulated stress in the body.

Who is it for?

For anyone who:

  • wants to connect to their body, release tension and stress from the body

  • is interested in experiencing somatic practices and awareness – including elements of somatic movement, breathwork, orienting, and of course, dance!

  • wants to dance until they drop, being grounded in their bodies

  • dances out of joy and want to dance somewhere else than at home, for a change 😄

  • is looking for a different vibe than on ecstatic dance events or in clubs

  • wants to dance to alternative and indie music

  • wants to dance in a smaller group, with enough space to explore freely – even with eyes closed

Come as you are (or dress up!). Move as you feel. Let your body speak.

We’ll dance to indie rock, electronic, and alternative sounds. For the taste of what kind of music we’ll play, go through our Instagram posts.

Guidelines:

  1. This experience is first and foremost for you — a chance to connect with yourself.

  2. Follow what feels good in your body. If at any point you feel called to connect with others, go for it — just be sure to respect everyone’s space and boundaries along the way. Everyone’s journey is personal and different.

  3. To deepen the experience, feel free to keep your eyes closed and dance barefoot.

  4. Move your way. Dance—or don’t—however feels right. No one's watching.

  5. We trust you take care of your needs. Pause, rest, drink, go to the bathroom or step out anytime.
